So I have been matched by the Connexional Team with Deacon Mark. and just as I was re-reading my email to him with introductions - he rings:

Dear Mark,

Well, this is exciting.  We've been matched as part of DOV1.

I understand the process of becoming an accompanist is itself demanding and I am so very grateful that you have offered to take on such a role.  It's so humbling that people are willing to serve in this way and to support me as I (and the church) undertake this journey of discernment.

Anyhoo, I know we've got quite a bit to get through as we look at DOV1 together and I wonder how you'd feel about meeting up in person?  I can travel to you, or I'm happy to host you in Sedbergh, whichever is more convenient for you.

A few options would be a really good start and I'm sure we can make one work.  Email or ring at any time - contact details below.  If I can't take a call, I'll ring you back as soon as I can.
All the very best,
Matt

We've covered some practicalities re: meeting times and places. How very real. He seems very organised, gentle. I must look into the Diaconate.

Church was incredible, stitched thread creating a beautiful complete tapestry.  I led an all age address at Cornerstone: 1 Cor 12:12-26 One body, many parts.

1 Corinthians 12:12–26 NIV - Just as a body,… | Biblia
Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit…

The vestry prayer was somewhat challenging - something about ensuring Sunday is dedicated to prayer - but it was styled in such a way that one should keep a list of things for Sunday.  Nope.

I had several missed calls during the Service.  It was work ringing to get NoK details for a colleague who died suddenly in his sleep.  Just awful.  He was a man of faith, I’ve texted Padre re: support and prayers.
